A round-up of fall flavors and recipes to tempt your taste buds
“Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul… but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October.” — Peggy Toney Horton
Ah yes, Fall, my favorite time of the year. Your pictures are the story of fall! I love the weather, colors, smells, tastes, activities and the sights of Fall. You post has put a big smile on my face and in my heart! Have an awesome weekend!
Just got through the tropical storm! Just thankful for just small debris. Looking forward to fall, the cooler weather, mother natures beautiful colors! Love your pictures! Have a safe holiday weekend!
Enjoying the cooler weather on the lake and your beautiful pictures are an inspiration to get pumpkins and splash them around….Your posts are always a “pick me up” and your fur babies are such adorable models!
Oh what a breath of fresh cool air this morning (55º here) along with your GORGEOUS displays of Autumn!! I feel exactly the same as you, Mary…this has been a most miserable summer & Ohio summers are NOT usually in the 90ºs very often. I can’t wait to start bringing out my fall decorations, though they are nothing compared to yours.
Labor Day is the last RED/WHITE/ BLUE hurrah around here & then here comes the Orange & Browns…not to be confused with the Cleveland football team. LOL
We don’t have much of a fall here in Southern CA, but I’m ready anyway. Went to Pier 1 last night and got a cute pumpkin coffee mug, and put out some fall runners on my nook table yesterday!
Am I sad to see summer go??? Always…but glad to go forward with Fall!!! It’s time for a rest from the gardening and this year the constant humidity….it is clear and crisp here this a.m. First time I’ve had to put on my light weight robe…your photos are truly beautiful and forever Fall!!! Love them and I’m guess I am ready for Fall..thanks Mary…I hope all are safe after Hermine passes your way!!! 🙏🏻🌻☀️🍂🍁🌾
Your photos and decor never fail to amaze me. I feel the autumn coolness just from looking at your blog. I too am ready for the summer heat to dissipate and to feel the crispness of fall.
Oh Mary, you’ve captured the magic of fall in so many ways! I think my favorite photos are the hay bale covered with pumpkins and the little girl picking apples, but of course I always love to see your potting shed standing proud in all it’s seasonal glory! I will be making a bee line to the pumpkin patch when the weather starts to cool, and can’t wait to fill the kitchen with scents of baking apples and cinnamon. But today we are celebrating Hermine’s exit and boating in the hot sunshine, enjoying the last hurrahs of summer for the next few weeks…but you have inspired a little pumpkin painting that will keep me happy until I can get my hands on a real one :) Hope your Labor Day is laborless and full of wagging tails and boat rides

You are such a beautiful photographer and stager! I look forward to your posts everday. Yyou are my favorite. Thank you. Sharing the beauty of the South.
I have no nostalgia for summer as I detest the heat and will not miss it a bit. I LOVE Fall! I love everything about it! Your photos have captured Fall in all of its beauty and I love how you showcase every aspect. I can’t wait for all of these changes to start. I am intrigued by those hay bales. I really like the round shape, I’ve only ever seen the traditional rectangles. I guess it would be pretty difficult to get one of those on my porch, never mind into the house! Thank-you for this lovely and welcome post- simply beautiful!
Yes, please, I’m ready for fall and the delight of a nip in the air and the beautiful russet colors seen every which way one looks. It’s in the 70s here this morning! Perhaps a tease of Mother Nature, but wouldn’t it be nice if this continues. Each of your photos makes my heart sing. Love the picnics!
Have I told you lately that I LOVE your blog! Your pictures are fantastic and the emotion you are able to capture is incredible! I want to be you when I grow up!
I’m so happy to see September and today’s cooler temps have been wonderful! I’ll take the clouds and rain if it brings this cooler air with it. Yesterday I changed out my garden flag to my autumn one and have started autumn decorating. :-)
Fall is my favorite season. The colors are gorgeous. I love the Fall issues of the magazines. Today I received my October issue of “Victoria” magazine. The cover is beautiful. I can’t wait to start reading the magazine. I see that you also love the Fall issues of the magazines. Thanks for sharing this lovely post.

Mary, you captured the magic of September. Your neck of the woods is truly special. I don’t think I’d ever leave! I’m looking forward to cooler weather. We had a small hint of it this Friday, and I hope it meanders over to you. Happy September!
Have a great weekend, Mary. Unraveling from travel frazzle is how I plan to spend the weekend. It’s nice to have low humidity for a day or two while I settle in. Your post makes me want to jump in and get busy, inside and out. Beautiful.
Thank you for your beautiful autumn post. I’m so looking forward to the cooler weather. It’s in the 70’s this weekend. Next week 80’s and some 90’s are coming back. Hopefully Hermine hasn’t hit your area too hard. Don’t think our area is going to get much rain from what’s left of Hermine.
Just beautiful! Love the fall on our farm! Just started gathering fresh straw bales to decorate with ! the pumpkins in our patch are starting to turn orange! Decorating around the barn and the scarecrows have made an appearance! Oh MY !
I’ve been through this post now four times – each time I see something I’ve not seen before – and I’m going through slowly. I adore your settings and all the wonderful things you include in each photo. Your colors are lovely and your arrangements so tempting. I’m not at all ready to be done with summer – it is pleasant and not too hot during the summer in the Pacific Northwest and I want it to last much longer than it does. Our leaves are beginning to turn – and some are dropping early, time marches on – and soon I’ll be bringing out the pumpkins and scarecrows too. Happy September – and I’m so glad I re-found your blog.
These are gorgeous fall photos! My favorite time of year! It’s a wonderful time to “rev up” preparation for the wonderful holidays ahead. LOVE this time of year! Blessings to you!!
What a wonderful and beautiful post! I have spent most of the weekend carrying tings down to the basement after emptying the house of all summer decor in preparation for FALL! My legs are siging to me:) Thanks for all of your wonderful inspiration.
So ready for fall….we worked outside almost all day yesterday and I almost had a heatstroke! our petunias have finally bitten the dust due to the heat and lack of rain. But it didn’t stop me from drinking a pumpkin spice latte! ;P
LOVED seeing the Crest all decked out for an autumn cruise. So much fun. We haven’t been to the lake in a month because we’ve had other things to do, including moving Shelley to college. *sadface*
i love this post! i swooned over all your fantastic photographs. i’ve been itching for fall, but after your post i’m ready to dive in! thanks for all the beautiful inspiration. xo- maryjo
