Memorial Day is almost here, if you’re like me you’re wondering how did that happen?
If you’re looking for some patriotic fare, I pulled together 12 recipes from the archives to celebrate the Red, White and Blueberry and for noshing over your Memorial Day weekend and holiday! Click on the links in red for the complete recipe.
Watermelons have been arriving in grocery stores, just in time for the holiday weekend and the unofficial start of summer.
Individual cobblers are baked in mini skillets with a topping that is rustic and simple to make! Substitute ramekins if you prefer for these easy, mini desserts.
A make-ahead dessert using a store-bought angel food or pound cake to cut down on prep time. Exercise your freedom and independence and layer with berries, lemon curd, pudding, whipped cream or a combination in a glass or trifle bowl!
A refreshing combination of pureed watermelon & lemonade with watermelon stars and blueberries. Add citrus flavored vodka for an adult beverage or serve without for a festive summertime lemonade.
Hi Mary, I always love your “round-up” posts as they give me a chance to visit all the wonderful ideas you share. I have made your berry caprese bruschetta and the berry skillet (both delicious!) and next I’m determined to make that beautiful angel food layered cake. Thanks for all the inspiration. I can’t believe Memorial Day is here either! Linda
Mary you certainly know how to do red white and blue! I have pinned several things to my Memorial Day weekend board, I especially want to make the Berry Layer Cake, it’s such a show stopper! Thank you for all the red white and blueberry ideas!

I love when you give us a quick and easy reference guide for the upcoming holidays, Mary. The skillet berry cobbler and the individual trifles are calling my name. I did make an angel food cake (from a mix) the other day, and froze half of it to make something with. Now I have an idea!!
Wish I was noshing on the watermelon and cheese platter while sipping a little something-something right now Mary! And I agree, how did we get to the middle of May already? Especially since it’s been so cool I still don’t even have the screens in my windows! Bet summer comes in like a lion this year:@)
Thank You so much MarY !!! I definitely will put the Olde Pink House on the to do list !!
