Top of the morning to ya Mary,

A beautiful post as usual. I’m not Irish but I am for the whole month of March. I just love receiving your post in my emails. I’ve been a subscriber for years. My favorite meal is corn beef and cabbage. I now make it with colcannon. What a wonderful dish. I’ve made many of your recipes. Irish cream scones, Irish apple cake, and Irish potato soup to name a few. All very good. I think this year I’ll be trying your Irish brown bread. As usual for me. I’ve pinned your entire page to my Pinterest board. I love having all your recipes at hand.

St. Patrick’s Day would not be the same without corned beef and my homemade mustard sauce. That said, a Guinness pot pie sounds like a nice change of pace. Everything here looks so delicious. Those brownies look particularly good, and I’m not a big fan of sweet, I prefer savory.

  17. February 23, 2026 at 8:34 am

Mary, this is such a Festive and Fun post, I enjoyed reading it all. I love you Belleek and the use of postcards, they just bring joy to any holiday. I have a Bless the Irish board and pinned several of your ideas to it, including the Blooming Cabbage Flower vase. I hope my hydrangeas make it this year. And, your lucky popcorn mix. I can’t wait to make it with my great niece Riley, she’ll want to put some out for her leprechaun trap! I love that you call the 1/2 popped kernels old maids! I also pinned, If you see a Fairy Ring, which takes me back to my Brownie Scout days, a long way back! My favorite Irish food is probably a good stew, and your recipe sounds delicious. I’m going to start adding the tomato paste tip, I also add fire roasted diced tomatoes to mine. Thanks for all your lovely ideas! And thank you for the opportunity to win some fab items.

  20. Ann Patricia Wareham
    February 23, 2026 at 8:41 am

I couldn’t possibly be Irish, could I? My very most favorite is the apple cake. A teller at my bank used to make it for the customers and gave me the recipe. When I used to walk in, they would also order lunch! We will probably have potato soup to celebrate with and perhaps a bit of corned beef and cabbage. But SCONES are to us Sc-ah-nes and my family who has been here since the Revolutionary War and fought in every war since, came from Scotland but stopped a while in Ireland on the way to America. My mother’s family is short laugh a lot and love a joke or a funny story. The funerals are a riot! My father’s family from whom we get our Scott name, is much taller and much quieter. And I am more like them—I really couldn’t possibly be Irish, could I?

I love reading ALL of your wonderful posts throughout the years. You certainly are creative and inventive with the tablescapes, DIYs, food presentations etc. As to my favorite Irish food that would have to be shepherd’s pie, hands down. Fingers crossed that I’ll win those darling plates. I’m part Irish and there are many items in my home with an Irish theme. Thanks Barbara

Thanks, Mary, I will pass on entering this very fun contest because I won the cookbook and two towels last year. You have offered the very best prizes. I did make the Irish stew from the cookbook and it was a winner. You are
most generous. I will send this colorful post on to all of my Irish-loving friends. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh be still my Irish 💚!! I want to taste everything that you’ve posted, Mary. My favorite for St. Paddy’s Day is the Irish Cream recipe of yours and I adore Ina’s Brown Bread as it remind me so much of the bread we ate in Ireland. I always make Shepherd’s (actually Cottage) Pie. Thank you for sharing the opportunity of your beautiful giveaways with all of us. ☘️

I always enjoy your Irish post as it gives me inspiration and reminds me that I have a table runner like your placemats.😂 I love HG! My husband and I enjoy good potato soup. I’m going to try your version. It sounds delicious! I’m also going to put my table runner and all things Irish on a table this weekend. Enjoy your day. It got terribly cold yesterday but we’re on the way to higher temps today. I just couldn’t endure all the snow that the Northeast is getting! I feel sorry for them. Clara❤️

I pinned your Belleek teapot and dishes to my St. Patrick’s Day board as I think they are so delicate and pretty. I saw plenty of Easter things in Marshalls yesterday but no St Patrick’s Day things. I’ll go to HG soon as they have a nice variety of items usually. Take care. Clara❤️

You’re still the best Mary! Yes, today I’ll be putting out some green and white decorating items, of which my favorite is the beautiful cut out design and embroidered shamrock table runner you blessed me with years ago. Along with that, on display will be my colorful green and white garden tools, (another special gift from you), in anticipation of a much desired spring. I’m ready to say good-bye to these cold temps and snow!
All your recipes are a delight to look at and a joy to eat, as I’ve tried many over the years. I’m thinking it’s time for some good potato soup and your recipe is calling to me. I know it will be delicious! Thank you for all your hard work, and delightful posts, they are always a joy to read! Blessings to you, Mary!😘

My favorite, and that of our family, recipe for potatoes is simple and quick. Great for those days when running in house right after work. Simply wash and peel three or four large potatoes, chop into bitesize pieces, and boil until tender. When done, drain and dress with lots of onion butter, salt and pepper, sprinkle a little parsley, and serve those hungry mouths. Thank you for the beautiful tablescapes!!!
