My fondest memory from childhood was coming home on Halloween night after Trick or Treating all evening long and my mother would have Warm Apple Cider and Donuts!!! I hope you and yours are safe and out of harms way during this most difficult of storms.
I shared the good news of your Halloween giveaway on Pinterest!
Thrills and chills Mary, what a fun giveaway! I’m dusting off my broom this morning :) My kids love Peeps, they’re not my favorite but I love to decorate with them. Thanks for the chance to win.

Good Morning Mary, what spooky fun! I think your Halloween posts are my favorite and I’m a loyal follower! I’ve already raided the Halloween candy aisle at Target and found some Reese’s White Chocolate Halloween Pumpkins which are a new favorite!
No one does Halloween like you, Mary! I love the round-up!
Fabulous Halloween inspiration!!!! OHHH, I love each picture, such glamour and style! I love popcorn balls with candy corns.
I can’t imagine getting this post organized while watching for Florence to arrive.Last year I spent Hurricane Irma with my elderly parents in Florida. The storm is frightening, but the days of recovery can be awful with no power and clean up. Take care and stay safe.
What a fab. display. I think we’re missing out a lot in the UK. We don’t hold hallowe’en in the same way, almost no decorations, at least in our area.
My favorite treat is candy corn and peanuts mixed together. I’m sure somebody has a creative name for this. I can’t wait to make the witch’s potion popcorn with my grandchildren. This Mimi likes things easy!!
I love the salad plates!
My favorite Halloween treats are caramel apples and popcorn balls.
Pinned your wonderful tables to my Halloween board!
Pinned your Halloween Popcorn Treat to my Halloweenie ideas on Pinterest.

Been thinking about you. A friend in Lake Lure lost her power, haven’t heard from my friend in Mooresville yet. Of course I pinned the tablescape! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/8585055524674426/
ps, my friend in Mooresville said 6″, didn’t lose power, but a next door neighbor had a tree fall – luckily, into the lake, but I wonder who gets that out? When a tree falls in the river the Army Corps of Engrs is called upon. My trees, on the other hand, fell onto the riverbank, which required us to hire private contractor. :(
Hi Rita, Your comment was timely as we had a huge tree fall into the lake yesterday evening with the high winds from Florence. It’s right beyond the edge of our property behind us and next to the field by my shed, so it came down from Farmer Brown’s property. I had to look up who’s responsible and found: “Trees that fall into the lake and do not block or unnecessarily restrict navigational access should be left in place to benefit fish and/or wildlife.” It fell at the back of the cove but in the direct line of sight of a home behind us. WE wouldn’t want to look at it if we were them but it will be $$$ to deal with and at least get the upper part out of the water.

What a great collection of Halloween decor ideas. My favorite Halloween treat was mini chocolate bars. Kit-Kats can’t be beat.
Wonderful ideas, a feast form the senses. My fav memory of Halloween is that my Mom had a decoration of honeycomb orange crepe paper that she would wrap around a lamp. It had a jack of lantern black eyes and mouth. My favorite candy
is red licorice.
Hope all is well. Love, all your posts but Halloween ideas the most. Favorite Halloween treat is anything chocolate!
Oh my goodness I just love all your decorations! My Granddaughter and I make Halloween treats every year for the neighbors, that’s my favorite treat, next to candy corn 😉 and caramel apples and fresh apple cider
I am going to be a very busy witch making the numerous projects I have pinned. Can’t wait to make the Floating umbrella and make the popcorn treat with my granddaughters. I love Halloween and decorating my table. Especially love the Apothecary plates and wine glasses..I just purchased the darling Woodsey and Wise plates, so adorable. The Christmas set is on my wish list as well.

Mary, I LOVE the witch umbrella! So clever and so elegant — can’t wait to try this!
I love decorating for Halloween and used MANY of your ideas. My favorite candy is probably a peanut butter cup, but anything chocolate makes me happy! Crossing my fingers to win!
I love the Reeses candies in the pumpkin shape. Halloween is my favorite holiday of all. I go all out decorating but sadly seem to get fewer and fewer kids each year. Oh well, more candy for me and I still enjoy it. I am a long time subscriber and have gotten so many great ideas from you.
Black licorice, of course! Happy Halloween…..
I love the Autumn mix with candy corn and pumpkins.
Mary…you are the Queen of Halloween Decor…you never cease to amaze and inspire. I am afraid my favorite is a Halloween candy…candy corn to be exact. How un-original is that? Beautiful photos of your talents.
Kari@meandmycaptain
My mom always made popcorn balls and now I do the same with my children and grandchild
Glad you are safe Mary! Hugs! ♥️
I love Reese’s peanut butter cups…the big ones.
I LOVE Halloween. With over 400 trick or treaters we really decorate things up. I also host my bunco group in October. I’m using the “witch” theme. “Let’s Play Bunco Witches”. Doing lots of your ides. Thanks so much for all the great ideas.
I also pinned this on my “Trick or Treat” board on PInterest.
My favorite Halloween treat is my daughter. She was born 10/31/86 Thanks for another wonderful posts. Your ideas and decorations are always the best!
Love this! Halloween is by far my favorite and I remember when my kids were younger I would tell them to give me their bags so I could inspect the treats…….. but I really wanted to steal their Snickers and Almond Joys lol. Thank you so much for your generosity!
My fav Halloween candy is the easy combination of Candy Corn and Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts. Tastes like a Payday bar without the 4 oz commitment. Warning – you will probably eat more than 4 oz.
Oh Mary, you are so generous with sharing your creativity and with your fabulous giveaways. I have tried several of your Halloween ideas and this year Cissy and I will be trying more. We will be making the Halloween popcorn and giving that as gifts. I am already a follower of yours! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods…xxoo.
Thank you for the opportunity to win!
I go for pure sugar….Candy Corn! Although I like the idea of adding the Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts – definitely going to try that!
Our favorite candy to give out to the trick or Treaters are Reece’s peanut butter cups. I must admit hat candy corn is something that is a downfall in my family. We all love it but do not have it too often.
My all time favorite candy will always be candy corn.
Or the candies that come in the black or orange wrappers, I’m unsure of the name but they pop up every halloween.
My favorite candy is the little pumpkins with candy corn.
Also saved to Pinterest

I love to decorate with it. Second would be a Snickers mini. Thanks for sharing your creativity and these offers. Pinned several items. Great fun.
My favorite Halloween treats are chocolate candies—mini or full sized candy bars of various kinds. You always have the neatest ideas and it is so fun to see what you have come up with.
I am definitely feeling witchy now Mary! I’ve always said you are the Queen of Halloween, nobody does it better than you! I was in HG the other day, so many Halloween temptations! Your generous giveaway is certainly packed full of treats not tricks! That hand blender does look handy, I hate cauldron stirring 🎃 I am pinning away! I have not stopped thinking about all my Carolina friends and praying everyone is OK… I would go for the serious chocolate in my Halloween bag, a girl needs her chocolate fix!
Jenna

Been a member of your Black Hat Society for a few years now…..looking forward to another one!
Mary,
Please don’t enter me in the drawing as we’re currently preparing to move across country!
I will share my favorite thing about your post, and it’s you! I truly appreciate all the time and effort put into your posts with no detail left unattended (Yes, I noticed the pretzel stir stick in the cauldron cupcakes!). You do all this without a staff and using items that are easy to find locally and are quite affordable.
So, thank you for all the bewitching inspiration!

I pinned your Halloween Scary Castle, so I could send it to my sister, who has grandchildren living near by. Also I would love to make a “The Witch Is In” wreath. I also started following you by email. Your posts are inspirations to many! Thanks! Candy Corn is a favorite.
I love all of your cool Halloween decorations and treats but my all time favorite for fall is the very easy salted skinless peanuts mixed equally with honey candy corn! My young niece was selling mums, as a fundraiser for her elementary school. I purchased two and I plan on displaying them like the one you posted on your blog (mum in a cauldron with a black crow on top and a broomstick alongside of it). I shared it on Pinterest to her mother for an additional entry to your giveaway.
Thank you for continuing to inspire us to pay attention to detail in everything that we do.
My favorite treat is me and my BFF always exchange beautiful gift packages for each other on Halloween. It’s one of those things that you start shopping for as soon as you see all of the Halloween stuff in the stores, and as you’re stopping something stops you and you say yourself, “Oh, she’d love that!” It doesn’t have to be expensive; it can even be paper napkins from the $1 store– you know it when you see it. Over the years I’ve expanded this tradition a little bit to include her daughter who I’ve nicknamed Pumpkin.
Our family prefers the savory treats and we look forward to a pot of chili before and after trick or treating. I will try the chicken stew this year for sure.
Wow, Mary, you certainly are the GOOD witch giving all these wonderful gifts away! My favorite treat is ANYTHING pumpkin: cookies, cupcakes, pancakes, you name it. Thanks for such a wonderful post full of inspiration!
I do follow by email AND on Facebook.

I love candy corn but just around Halloween there’s some special candies that shout out the different holidays. And I won’t say no to a pumpkin shaped Reese peanut butter candy.
It’s a no brainer…candy corn….then caramels. But seriously just send me the Witchy umbrella! Oh my I have loved that ever since I first laid my eyes on it. Will have to get going and make one. You are the Good Witch of all things Halloween! Love all of your amazing tricks and treats…mainly treats!!
A good crisp candy apple with cinnamon red hots.
In chocolate would be Snickers.
Send broom Hilda my way, if my name is picked for a winning.
Love all your creative ideas. My favorite treat would be cinnamon doughnuts and apple cider.
Oh my, there are so many that I like, but one nostalgic favorite is peanut butter salt water taffy in orange or black wrappers. One year, I cut a scraggly tree branch, potted it and put the pot in a brown paper bag, tied with orange and black ribbon. Then I tied these taffy’s to the tree branch. It was cute and sweet!
Reese’s peanut butter cups are my fave!! Caramel apples are also!
Hi, I am a Black Hatter aka follower too. I like the baby pumpkin candies. Yes, I pinned the Oreo Socked Witch…love it. You were preparing for the hurricane and our reading the blog. . .that is serious planning ahead. Hope all is well.

I pinned your wreath and fantastic umbrella witch that I’m going to try to conjure up this year. I have some leftover ribbon, a pair of legs from Hobby Lobby last year and all kinds of fun things in my Halloween stash. I need to fire up the broom and fly over to Dollar Tree for an umbrella!
OMGoodness…what a wonderful giveaway and Halloween inspiration! I can’t resist miniature Snickers and the pumpkins are doubly delicious! Thanks for the chance to win and spooky fun…🎃👻🍬
I just found your blog and have subscribed! Thrilled to be a Black Hat Society Member ;)
Pinned your tables to my Halloween tablescapes board for a third chance to win! 🎃
This crazy black hat subscriber loves candy corn! It just means Halloween to me. Love all your clever ideas for this post!
My favorite Halloween treat is good ol fashioned Halloween candy that you get when trick or treating. Some of my best memories is the anticipation of trick or treating and my dad dropping my brothers and sister and I off in a large neighborhood armed with pillow cases to hold all that candy. We would go for hours and when it was getting late and porch lights were turning off those pillow cases would be bulging. But the best part was coming home and dumping all that candy onto the floor and going through it…..the sorting, the trading, picking your favorites and eating your way through it…..the best memories make the best eating!
Love your Halloween ideas! Favorite Halloween Treat would have to be Halloween Sugar Cookies or Pumpkin Bars. I loved decorating the house when my boys were small and still do it although we’re empty nesters now. Love your tablescapes too! Thanks for all the great ideas
Hi Mary, you have the best party and decorating ideas! My favorite Halloween treat actually starts in September and goes through November; a mix of candy corn and cocktail peanuts with the taste of a Payday candy bar. Looks as if you had that combination in your popcorn mix, very yummy looking. Where did you buy the pumpkin pretzels? They add a great element to your mix. Hope you are safe.
Thanks Sue, All the details and recipe for the candy coated popcorn is on the post link: https://homeiswheretheboatis.net/2016/10/07/easy-witchs-potion-popcorn-no-cauldron-required/
I love candy corn and candy pumpkins! Thank you for this awesome giveaway.
I’m also a subscriber!

What a bright light to start my day, something to look forward to dying trying times here at the coast. Thanks so much for bringing something fun to the table. Hopefully trucks filled with Halloween cheer can make it to us so that we can brew up special goodies and treats for the neighborhood kids that normally celebrate like demons every year. It is a rough time for folks around here…unbelievable lines around the stores to check out basic items so far if there is nothing left.
Have a great witching moment and bring on the goodies! Stay safe
Oh so many errors in my comment no cable to I’m using a cell phone with tiny letters. That was to say anything left at the stores and trying times.
Reese’s pumpkins are my favorite.
I am a subscriber.
Fantastic post! I love your Halloween table and creative spirit! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway. My favorite candy is miniature Snickers, no matter what the season.
I’m a subscriber and Black Hat Society Member!
Pinned your wonderful Halloween tables and Witch Umbrella!!
Mindboggling, overwhelming, fun! And mostly INSPIRING! Thank you. The candy we treat our trickers with is Heath Bar. Our main focus is the preservation of the candy ~ because one of our family’s favorite cookies calls for little chunks. For a long time, we grabbed bags of Heath Bar candy as soon as the Halloween candies hit the shelves as they were not easy to find. We have shared the recipe with parents who come to the door and the good news is the minis are becoming easier to find. Woohoooooo!
I hope Florence wasn’t too bad for you. Living is New Orleans all my life, I know all too well about hurricanes and the damage they can create. Thanks for the giveaway and chance to win! Halloween is my favorite time of the year and my favorite treat is Peanut M&M’s. You’re blog is very inspiring. Happy Halloween!
My favorite is butterfinger. I love halloween since I was a little girl, its my favorite holiday. Love to win.
I always LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Halloween blog features! My favorite Halloween treat is a caramel apple. I love using crab apples or small Fuji apples for a bite size treat! Hope I am one of the lucky winners of your fabulous prizes!
Pinned every photo you posted on your Halloween theme. You are a true inspiration for your members of the Black Hat Society!
MARY!! I love all your giveaways!! When I get finished with all the items I haven’t read, I will read your post about Lola being a hurricane dog…
My favorite Halloween candy is HOMEMADE POPCORN BALLS!! A lady in our neighborhood would make for Halloween and hers was the first house on my list!! Sadly, I have never learned to make them..wish I could! WAY back when, we didn’t have store bought candy. Therefore, our treats were popcorn balls, homemade candy, fruit!! My favorite Halloween centerpiece of yours is the hanging umbrella with the witches legs!! That’s the best thing I have ever seen for decorating on Halloween…
Love ya and hope you are safe! Good luck to all!! ❤️🌊☠️🎃👁🧙🏻♀️🧛🏻♀️
BTW: I am a BLACK HAT MEMBER!
I pinned my favorite decoration for HALLOWEEN!! Thanks Mary ❤️

You ARE the QUEEN of DECOR ! Love the cupcakes !YUM!
This was fabulous to remember all these great tables. How did you make the design stick to the clear plates in the witch’s potion? I doubt I can find that product at Michaels since that was several years ago. Thanks for your help. Planning a luncheon for 8 in a few weeks
Hi Sandi, I didn’t use anything. The decal is just sandwiched between the clear and white plates for a little spooky fun 🍽👻🎃
Thanks so much!! Can you remove the decal and reuse it again another time.? My white plates have a raised border so hoping it will work. I don’t have room to store any more plates!!!!
Love everything in this post. So so so cute🎃. I love all things Halloween but anything with pumpkin flavor or simple candy corn, and there is no turning back 😀
Hi Mary, I need some help on the glass plates with the decals on the witch’s potion table please. I found some decals at Michaels this year and would like to make the plates. Are the labels food safe or just for decoration? And can they be washed? Did you use dinner or salad plates? Thanks so much

Hi Sandi Lee, I just sandwiched the labels between the clear glass salad plate and white dinner plate, they weren’t attached permanently. For a permanent fix you could use Mod Podge them to the back of the glass plates. You would want to hand wash them.
Sorry for my last reply. I did not see your last reply😂. No need to answer. I understand now! Some days I’m just not hitting it!💀🦇💀
