Taffy’s Star Cookies named after my one cat in 1995 i make them every year they are lemon and vanilla star cutouts and the recipe is an old family one over 120 years they are the best.
My fav cookies are the snowball/wedding cookies. But I really love almost any cookie with a hot beverage!

This post is what I needed for additional inspiration. I have a huge freezer so I started baking last week. Your post has added some wonderful treats to my baking list.
Thank you Mary for always beautiful decor, and beautiful food. My newest cookie tray addition are my Mom’s strawberries made with coconut, pecans, sweetened condensed milk and jello.
My absolute favorite Christmas recipe is one that was handed down to me the first Christmas after I married in 1987 by my Grandma May who made the cookies every year for our family gatherings: Springerles which are a delicious combination of the flavors of vanilla, lemon and anise. The chewy crisp cookie is imprinted on top with an embossed picture that is created by the embossed rolling pin being pressed into the soft rolled out dough. The cookies are carefully cut apart along the edges of each little picture design, laid into prepared baking sheets that are sprinkled with anise seeds, then covered with towels and allowed to dry a bit before baked where they puff up creating the chewy inside and crispy crackly top where the rolling pin print is pictured. The bottoms are beautiful with the baked in anise seeds which provide the beloved flavor of Christmas for me.

Hello from Chester, Virginia, Mary. Thanks for your exceptional post that inspires so many of us!! One of my holiday recipes is ‘Marbles’ ~ melt 2 cups of white choc chips, add 3 c. Chow mein noodles, 1/2 chopped sliced orange candy, 1/4 chopped red candied cherries, and 1/4 c. Chopped green candied cherries. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool. Enjoy!

My favorite Christmas cookies is a traditional Italian anisette cookie that I learned from my Italian landlord many years ago. My d fee shorter cookie is what we called a powdered sugar poppy seed cookie. My mom made these every year and now I do. They are rolled up butter horn style with a poppyseed center and rolled in the sugar after baking. So yummy!

I always look forward to your posts… not only the recipes, but also ,the tablescapes! So beautiful! I envy the storage you have! One of my favorite memories is of our families, cousins, aunts, everyone making popcorn balls. Some were tinted green, others red.
Happy Thanksgiving Mary! One of my favorite cookies is made using a strawberry cake mix and cream cheese. We just call them pink cookies :) I’m a long time e-mail subscriber and really enjoy your recipes, tablescapes and photography.
It would not be Christmas in our house without making Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies, lovely call Santa Cookies.

Every year I bake a candy cane bread for our Christmas morning breakfast, it’s filled with chopped maraschino cherries and dried apricots, yum!
I pinned the spicy dark chocolate peanut clusters, looks delicious and thought I might try the candy cane cocoa mix for us and some fun gifts!

My favorite is pecan pie. Always reminds me of my mother. She was an exceptional baker.

My favorite Christmas cookie is when my sister and I get together and make Fried Italian cookies. Mom never told us the real name of them. She always just called them fried cookies! You have always gave us so many wonderful cookie & other treat recipes! Thank you!

Every year I make Grandmothers Sugar Cookies and think of her. I then enjoy them with a cup of tea as she would.
Our family’s favorite cookie is the melt in your mouth snowman cookies. I make these every year.
I pinned the recipe for the No Bake Orange Coconut Snowballs – yum! These look delicious!
I pinned both of the pecan bourbon recipes one was the cookie and one was for the no bake balls. We hosted a bourbon tasting earlier this year with neighbors so these will make perfect gifts.
What are your thoughts on the cookie? I made it & found it was woefully under-spiced/bland & we know the bourbon bakes out. The only ‘zip’ was the glaze. So disappointed in Southern Living.
My favorite Christmas dessert is a butter cookie recipe of my mom’s. Lots of happy memories making and decorating them.

I have made a blueberry coffee cake for Christmas morning for at least 40 years. When my son was small, we made cut-out Christmas cookies and iced them. Don’t do that anymore, but it is a nice memory.–Cherryl
