My favorite recipe is the Irish stew but all that you shared looks great and worthy of a try☺️
Mary, your love of all things celebratory and tabletop are infectious! I love the hearty stew, but the spinach artichoke recipe with special tricks for assembling, and hummus with Irish flag veggies are great small bites. I love bread, and that Irish bread slathered (Mr. P uses the word smothered) in butter looks amazing. I love this under appreciated holiday. My Dad’s people are from Ireland, but my Mom (Italian) celebrated it more! Two kinds of Irish! Great post, pinned.
And I don’t care if March comes in like a lion or lamb, just get here!☘️💚
My favorite Irish food is a delicious boiled dinner. Corned beef and cabbage with all the fixings!

Hi Mary, Happy St Pat’s Day

Slow cooked in the crockpot with a brown sugar and brown mustard glaze.
Braised cabbage and carrots, and of course lots of mashed potatoes.
As always a beautiful post !!!

I can personally attest to the deliciousness of Ina‘s brown bread. Thanks for the reminder, I need to make some more of that this year. However, my favorite St. Patrick’s Day food has got to be corned beef. By the way, a number of years ago when you got that shamrock punch and used it on spinach leaves, I think, I got one as well, and I didn’t have the luck that you did. I ended up mangling spinach. It was not pretty. Love this post and all of your St. Patrick’s Day goodies.
I am a long time follower.
Pinned!
So many beautiful photos and tasty recipes! Our family’s favorite meal for St.Patrick’s Day is Corned Beef and Cabbage and Irish Soda Bread.

Good morning, Mary,
Once again the beautiful St. Patrick’s Day photos and inspiration. LOVE IT! I love the corned beef recipe and potatoes. I decorate my previous neighbor’s house every year, in the usual tradition every year. My late husband and I did it, when we lived next door. He and I were married on that day. I cry every time I see these beautiful photos. God bless you.( I am a subscriber and I pinned your beautiful puppy on my Pinterest, under Home is Where the Boat is, St. Patrick’s Day)
My favorite is actually Irish breakfast tea. I drink it every morning as I love a nice strong cup of tea!
Let the sweet wind blow blessings your way on St. Patty’s Day and every Day. We love an old fashion Boiled supper with Cabbage, Potatoes, Carrots and Onions. Finished off with shamrock Pie.
I pinned the Irish Guinness Brownies. They look like they will be over the top. Thank you for the beauty that you bring to my life.
I love Cottage Pie but those frosted brownies look heavenly!! =) Such a great color to decorate with.

It’s all so pretty but not enough space to display it all.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day…one of my very favorite days even though I don’t have a drop of Irish blood! I’ve been making Irish Soda Bread for over 45 years & have recently made the Guinness Brown bread which was much enjoyed. This year I want to try the Irish Cream Pistachio fudge (using your recipe for Irish Cream of course!) therefore, I pinned the fudge recipe. Love your posts and have been following you for many years. Thank you for creating such a fun blog!
Thank you for your post, Mary! I was amazed by this IRISH post, because I run out of ideas for decorating and cooking. Now I have some fabulous ideas. My mother has always made the stew which is almost exactly the same recipe. I noticed in Ina’s cookbook, she had added butternut squash to hers, which I want to try. I make soup/stew year round at least once per week. Thank you so much.
Soda Bread i love it i make it all the time
My favorite dish on St Paddy’s Day is “bubble and squeak”!
Mary, a beautiful post with recipes, tables, and all things Irish. I would love a bowl of Irish Beef Stew for dinner!☘️💚
Top of the Morning to you, Mary! Hoping it is warmer down in NC than it is in NW CT. Our poor black Lab Madison can’t play outside for 2 weeks now due to 2″ of ice over our snow pack. Spring…where are you ?? Anyway, my favorite Irish food is a delicious grilled Reuben sandwich on Marble Rye with caraway seeds ! I also make Irish Apple Cake every year. Delicious !! Hugs to you ! Dorinda ☘️

Hi Mary ~ I pinned several pictures to my Pinterest board “Irish Eyes are Smiling”
Turns out I am more Irish than I am German…who knew..lol? Corned beef and cabbage tops the list. With garden grown potatoes, carrots and cabbage. In fact I am making that today! We love it so much that we eat it year round. Your posts amaze me! Thanks for inspiring me to pull out my St. Patty’s Day decorations……many that were inspired by you!
Mary, a great round up of yummy recipes. My favorite is Irish stew, so hearty and comforting. My husband loves the dessert shooters which are small, and you can have several.😋
I pinned your Eat, Drink & Be Irish, Blooming Cabbage, Irish Beef Stew, If you See a Fairy Ring, Party Favor Cones and Postcard Pillow. I love them all!
Mary, your St. Patrick’s ideas are fabulous! I will definitely use a fresh cabbage to display my flowers!
Many years ago, my first St. Patrick’s party with family consisted of me making 2 meals. Of course, corned beef and cabbage was #1 but my German ancestry family had to have roast beef, carrots, mashed potatoes, noodles with bread crumbs. They would not even try the corned beef! Well, I enjoyed it! Over the years the family palates have changed. Now I no longer make the roast beef! They all eat corned beef and cabbage! I tried once to color mashed potatoes green – never again! I also tried colcannon – my family did not understand why I would ruin mashed potatoes with cabbage??? Never again on that one too ! My uncle traced our Irish heritage back to the 7th century in Tuam, County Galway. I took my mother to Ireland for her 80th birthday! What a fabulous trip especially seeing the 40 shades of green throughout the countryside. Your recipes are wonderful! I can’t wait to get busy making them for my St. Patrick’s party!
Mary, I love the Irish scones, so yummy. I have been following you for several years now. You always have such beautiful table scapes and great table DYI for us. I always look forward to reading your posts.
Thank you.🌺
OH MARY! ♣ Thank you for so much inspiration!! Well dang, how does this Irish lass answer your question? When in Ireland with my entire family my fav food by far was the brown bread and their incredibly good butter. We lived on that and fish. I am def going to make your Irish cream scones this year. I drooled on my keyboard. I am a long time subscriber and it’s impossible to say all I pinned. Your giveaway is mind blowing. I love it all – and that cookbook, I bet there is so many good inspirations in there. Thank you so much. Beannacht Dé ort.

You amaze me! What a wonderful array of Irish recipes to make us have a fabulous Irish Day! Thank You!
🍀☘️💚☘️🍀
Mary, another fun filled fabulous post! Wow, what a resource. Just today I pulled down my tub of St. Pat’s table top and decor items. Thinking I’ll be putting away my hearts and valentine things and bringing out the Irish touches. It’s fun to have these holidays to spark creativity. I think Irish stew is my favorite. It’s hearty for these cold days.
That green throw looks cozy and perfect for snuggling under, and the pillow is adorable.
I popped into Home Goods yesterday after seeing your post. I came home with some fun Easter basket fillings for my nieces, a few Peter Rabbit mugs, and some Easter decor I didn’t need. It was just too cute to leave behind.
I also found a shamrock charcuterie board and a set of faux Irish themed doughnuts. No idea what I might do with those, but I’m sure they will be fun to style. Thanks for all the recipes and inspiration.
PS
Made your Irish Cream tonight. I cannot WAIT to have it in the morning. (Well it is 2:30 am so I guess it is morning, haha.) I will be offering it at my ladies luncheon on Wednesday. It isn’t a St Pat’s gathering, but it begins the holiday!!

Your photos made me hungry Mary. My favorite food is the Irish Soda Bread and I also soak my currents or raisins in Whiskey. This gives the bread such a delicious flavor. But, my second favorite recipe are the potatoes with the pesto and spinach. Thank you for all the inspiration and Happy St Patrick’s Day!
My favorite Irish food is Lamb Stew but this year I will probably make Shepherd’s Pie, since I already have the ingredients. I am always inspired by your recipes and beautiful table scapes.
What a fun and lovely column. The table decorations defined the holiday so perfectly and made me smile. I would have to say the Irish Beef stew with whiskey soda bread would be my favorite entree but the scones with tea would be second. Guinness alone would be perfect. I look forward to your column and helpful hints, they are very informative. Made me hungry and ambitious but not at midnight. Tomorrow Tuesday am to start planning my 2 hosting events Match 5 potato bar and games for the neighborhood; host Bunco and host Mah Jongg. I see great table settings ? etc for these events. Thank you for all the great ideas.
We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day for the entire month of March at our house! I have been a subscriber for many years and I always look forward to receiving your posts in my email.
