I don’t know what to make first. The tablespace is gorgeous, and so inspiring.
I have fresh cranberries ready to go so I think some freezer friendly sauce is the first thing to make.
Thank you for your wonderful dose of inspiration !

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is a fav tradition. I love watching the parade and can’t wait to take my grandchildren to see it in person! The traditional favs follow: turkey, stuffing, potatoes, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie—oh yeah, there’s a green veggie in there somewhere! I need a plate for my family feast , please!
I try to live gratefully all year every day, but thanksgiving is the best time of the year!

While it may play havoc with the timing of dinner, we always have a circle of Gratitude where everyone shares what they have been grateful for this year.

Favorite Thanksgiving food is easy. Has to be cornbread dressing. And I will cry like a baby if there’s no cranberry sauce to go with. Then it occurred to me that as a loooong time subscriber here I have another tradition of sorts. And, Mary, that would be seeing cute stuff you have and seeking it out to purchase myself. Just gotta have it! LOL! I have so many decor and tabletop items I was inspired to buy by YOU. Case in point, for years I have longed for the bone handled flatware you’ve featured in many of your fall tablescapes. I have shown great restraint but two weeks ago I FINALLY did it. I purchased them. The flatware will be on my Thanksgiving table this year and a new tradition begins. Thanks (I think) Mary!

Great ideas! I would love to know how my mom made her candied apples. They were so delicious with turkey dinner! I still make her cranberry sauce though, her macaroni salad was a fave also. She was the Best cook….😍

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving, that I guess could be considered a tradition, is that my nephew and his family visit from Omaha. It’s the only time I get to see them.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is our thankful notes. Before Thanksgiving I ask each person to tell me why they are thankful for each member of the family. I type these up and cut each individual note. I then take a can of croissant rolls and divide then up. In each triangle I fold a note and then roll the note into the roll — just as you would a regular croissant roll. I then bake them according to package directions. Once put on the table — before we begin our meal ….or during the course of the meal….each person pulls part their roll and reads the “thankful” not. Sometimes these are funny…sometimes they are serious….but they are always enjoyed. We have done this since my grandchildren were little and they are now in their late teens. I also give my grandchildren a small gift at the end of the day that takes them into the Christmas season…..christmas pj’s….a little decoration for their room….etc.

How thankful Mary so many of us are for you. You bring such joy and creativity to our lives. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope to try these recipes..especially the turkey butter….

Hi Mary ~ such a yummy looking post. I think that Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite holidays. I love to cook and bake for the people in my life who I love so much. Growing up, my I spent a lot of time with my maternal Grandma. She was from Austria. She would make a stuffing out of saltines that were blended, eggs, seasonings, herbs and some parts of the giblets although I am not sure what. It would be stuffed into the turkey and sewn shut. She called it Hungarian stuffing cause my grandpa was Hungarian. I LOVED THAT STUFFING. but alas I somehow never obtained the recipe from her ☹️. So while stuffing is still my favorite food of the day,
I would love some of that Hungarian stuffing!! Hugs, Dorinda

    Hi, Mary,
    Your recipes sound delicious!
Sorry! My previous essage got “sent” before I had finished.
One of my favorite memories is my grandmother’s dressing made with dried white bread, raisins, apples and nuts. She didn’t leave a recipe; she just knew when it “looked right.” My mom tried and tried until she got the recipe right, so happily, we can reproduce it.

  36. October 27, 2025 at 6:56 pm

Thank you so very much for rounding up all these wonderful Thanksgiving recipes for us, Mary. I have made several of yours in the past, but I see even more that I’d like to make. My favorite Thanksgiving recipe is pecan pie and pumpkin roll. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is a month away! Why does Fall have to go by so quickly??

I always think I can’t get more impressed with your post but here I am super impressed again!
What a beautiful assortment of recipes and table settings.
My must have tradition is my grandma’s cranberry sauce, she is no longer with us but maybe a little piece of her carries on with the sauce.
I pinned the pumpkin butter pecan rolls, maybe a new tradition! Yum!
    Thanks, Diana

The stuffing that goes into the turkey is definitely a shining star for me. Maybe because it’s the one time a year I make stuffing. Mashed potatoes, the gravy and other items I make at other times of the year. Even the sweet potatoes I make at Easter. So the decadent cornbread sausage stuffing wins the prize….especially if it sops up some of that delicious gravy!

Oh, my word, where does one begin? First off, let me thank you for ALL this inspiration. You make every single holiday so amazing with your recipes, craft ideas and drool-worthy pics. So I’d say for a long time now your Thanksgiving post/s would be a fun tradition for me. As far as our family tradition – we ALWAYS play games after the feast is over. For the cook (me) it is always my pay-back for all the work that goes into making a nice Thanksgiving feast for family and friends. As far as my fav food, I know this is lame as can be but I will ALWAYS do seconds on mashed potatoes with my turkey gravy. I try to eat well all year but I’d do a second helping of those before even a dessert. Love them even though it isn’t a great answer. As far as pinning your post today – I def pinned your tablescape and your pecan cranberry pie crust leaves. And a few others. Thank you for the opportunity to win a Tom Turkey plate. I have always loved and admired them. How perfect to put on a hutch to bring in the season. 3 lucky winners, keeping my fingers crossed!! Thank you so much!

Subscriber! We always MUST have pumpkin pie made from a real pumpkin. No Libby’s allowed in our house for the pie recipe. It is actually quite easy to process the small pie pumpkins, and it freezes like a dream. One small pumpkin will be enough for two pies. Happy baking, Mary, and thanks.

I love making the cranberry relish from Williams-Sonoma. I bought the mold many years ago and was hooked on the recipe. I pinned the bundt cake recipe with the bourbon glaze. I plan on making that one soon.

I have made the Williams-Sonoma cranberry relish for many years. I bought the mold back in the day and was hooked on that recipe. Ipinned the bundt cake with the bourbon glaze and plan on making it for Thanksgiving. I’m not a pie lover.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is bourbon pecan pie. It may also be turkey stuffing. I pinned Slow Cooker Maple Pumpkin Butter and Caramel-Pecan-Pumpkin Bread Pudding.

I love my daughter’s sweet potato casserole! It’s the perfect addition to our Thanksgiving table! I will make it this year since we won’t be visiting her and her sweet family.

I was reading an article the other day that said Ina Garten thinks stuffing should not be a part of the Thanksgiving table because people, well, stuff themselves with it, and have no room for the other dishes. To me, Thanksgiving is simply not Thanksgiving without the stuffing.

I love your posts and look forward to all the ones you post. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is when the young grandchildren come and help Nana write the names on the placecards and then figure out where they want everyone to sit. Makes myday

Love all of your Thanksgiving table settings! Ever since I was a child we always had candied yams for Thanksgiving. It’s a loving and delicious memory we carry on today. Wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without it. I’m a long time subscriber! Thanks for this giveaway. Would love to add this plate to my collection!

I absolutely love your posts, you always have the perfect little secret to make holidays and occasions special. Thank you for that! I can’t wait to try the roasted harvest vegetable salad. My favorite part about Thanksgiving is preparing my table setting and side board. I love using my Fitz & Floyd Harvest Bounty pitcher and gravy boat and I recently rescued the matching turkey tureen from a vintage market festival, he had a small flaw on one side and was a steal at $28.00.
My favorite recipe is an old one for a layered cranberry salad that incorporates cream cheese.
Thank you for the opportunity to have a piece of that lovely dinnerware.

A favorite Thanksgiving tradition: using a white tablecloth and asking guests to sign their names and listing something for which they are thankful. Using the same tablecloth year after year creates a treasure!

Your dessert snack board and nutter turkey cupcakes are great and will be a hit with the grandkids so I’ve pinned both. Thanks for the ideas
